Career Education現状
金沢大学は、世界に開かれた大学になること、すなわちグローバルキャンパスの実現に向けて、多くの取り組みをやってきました。その結果、現在600人を越える留学生が金沢大学で学んでいます。多くの留学生が卒業・修了後、本国や我が国をはじめ世界各地の大学、研究機関等に就職しますが、少なからぬ留学生が本国や我が国の民間企業に就職して活躍しています。
Present situation
Kanazawa University has carried out many programs to become a university open to the world, more specifically, to be a global campus. At present, more than 600 foreign students are studying at our campus. After graduation or completion of their education program, they work in universities and research institutions all over the world including in their home countries and Japan, and a considerable number also work for private companies.
課題
留学生が我が国の企業への就職を志望して、就職活動をする際に問題となるのが、十分ではない留学生の日本語能力や日本文化・日本企業にかかる理解不足です。特に、日本企業は米国をはじめ世界の多くの企業と異なり、新卒者を一斉に採用して、十分な時間をかけて教育し、長期間にわたり就職した企業で働いてもらうことを想定しています。このような日本特有の企業文化・企業組織・企業戦略は、長年にわたり築かれたもので、現在グローバル化により少しずつ変化しつつありますが、その基本理念は変わらず日本企業の力の源泉となっています。日本企業への採用を目指した就職活動の方法も海外企業と大きく異なっています。
Problems
Foreign students lack Japanese communication skill and an understanding of Japanese culture / corporate culture, making it difficult to enter Japanese companies. Japanese companies employ fresh graduates and train them over time expecting that they will work for the company for a long period of time, which is quite different from many companies in the U.S. and the rest of the world. These distinctive cultural, organizational and strategic characteristics of Japanese companies were built up over many years. Although they are changing little by little due to globalization, this basic philosophy does not change – it is the source of Japanese companies’ strength. Accordingly, the job-hunting approach for Japanese companies is different to that of foreign companies.
解決のための教育プログラム
このプログラムでは、企業文化組織論A・Bとして日本特有の企業文化・企業組織・企業戦略を学びます。さらに、いしかわ金沢学で、石川、金沢、そして日本の文化に触れ、日本を理解することができます。また、グローバル化する日本企業での技術経営を学ぶため、四つの科目からなるMOT科目群を提供しています。これらの科目群を履修することにより、就職活動を円滑に行い、志望企業からの内定を得ると共に、日本企業で自分の能力を十分に発揮することができます。
Educational program
Students learn about the culture, organization and strategies of Japanese companies in the classes Corporate Organization A and Corporate Organization B. In the Ishikawa Kanazawa Studies class, they will learn about Ishikawa, Kanazawa and Japanese culture in order to understand Japan. In addition, management of technology (MOT) classes, consisting of four subjects, are provided for learning about Japanese companies’ MOT. Studying these subjects makes students’ employment activities run smoothly, leading to official job offers, as well as allowing them to fulfill their potential in Japanese companies.
